“Data Protection of Virtual Machines”

by Imam Sheikh, SafeNet
Security and compliance drive requirements for data encryption and proven technologies for disk and volume encryption. Organizations must change how they approach these issues or run the risk of security breaches or audit failures because encryption controls cannot easily be managed in cloud environments. We will discuss how encryption, access control and key management can help you secure the full VMware lifecycle – from provisioning, to daily operations, to deletion of these VMs. Imam Sheikh will provide an overview of SafeNet’s OS-based encryption solutions and how they transformed their solution to become cloud-aware.

About the Speaker:  Imam Sheikh is a Senior Product Manager for Cloud and Compliance Solutions at SafeNet. He has been in the High Tech industry for over 15 years specializing in Security Technologies and about 11 years with SafeNet. During his career, he has held a number of technology leadership roles within Engineering and Product Management. He has a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from Bombay University (Honors) and a MBA from Santa Clara University.

“End-to-End Cloud Based Security”

by Ian Hu, Co-Founder TAGnologies a division of Spectrum Corp.
Today, a major shift in traditional Client-Server computing environment increased the challenge in IT security.  From the server side, moving from server on premise/collocation in datacenter to Cloud based computing.  From the client side, moving from desktop/laptop (notebook) to Smart devices (iPhone/iPadetc). Adding to the mixed (fire!) is workplace moving to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend, where employees bring their own device to work (with access to corporate information). How can security scale up to match with these changes?  At Spectrum, we have developed a solution specifically address to the security need for this shift in IT computing environment. By using a traditional Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), we have developed an end-to-end solution to add security to both the Cloud (server side information) and Mobility (Smart device access to server information).

About the Speaker:  Ian Hu is the founder and CEO of TAGnologies/Hyper Security division at Spectrum Corporation , a Bellevue Washington based IT services provider, where he is responsible for the IT security line of business.   Ian has assisted many enterprises in adapting their network deployment and security implementations.  Ian is a member of CSA Seattle Chapter and served as the Chairman for WSA Telecom and Wireless Special Interest Group (formerly TWA Northwest) in the past, and for more than 15 years has held various positions in business and consulting services in the Internet and Telecommunications industry (partnering with Cisco, Juniper, 3Com, Lucent, Nortel). He holds Cisco Certification and Certified Microsoft Partner.
