Chapter Business

Price Oden began the meeting with Chapter Business that included:

  • Announcement to register for the June 16th Luncheon at the WAC with Michael Hamilton who will be discussing “Public-Sector Cloud Adoption, and Potential Security Benefits”.
  • Reminder that nominations for the Chapter Board of Directors election close on Monday March 31st.
  • The Board of Director election will be held during the April 24th Chapter meeting.  Members must be present at the meeting to vote so please plan to attend.

Mark Porter, Senior Engineer, Zscaler, presenting:
APTs – Detecting & Preventing
Avanced Persistent Threats present enterprises with new and challenging security problems.  This presentation provides a look at the current APT trends and methods for detecting and securing your information and systems.

 

About:
Mark is a senior Systems Engineer at Zscaler, the largest security cloud on the market today. Prior to Zscaler Mark was the director of systems engineering at the web-application firewall company, Breach Security.

He had over 15 years of application design and development experience prior to moving into the information security space 15 years ago.  This combination of development and security expertise was instrumental in developing the Application Security Assessment program at Breach.

He has performed application security assessments at Fortune 500 companies as well as Government and Military institutions.

Mark has a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Greenwich, UK.
